Sporting Leagues Event: 20/07/07, Meadow Court Stadium.
Fenwick Cricket Club players and officials went to Meadow Court Greyhound Stadium in Doncaster, Stainforth for a Greyhound Sporting League event and the result was 380 pounds that will go towards their 'young opportunities' campaign.
Club Secretary Richard Randall led a party of 75 Fenwick members to Meadow Court Stadium for the second Sporting League meeting of the season, and said: "Fenwick Cricket Club recently launched a "Young Opportunities" campaign and they money will raised will go to the fund.
"We have several under 16 members who we hope to develop further by sending them on coaching courses. We have high hopes for each and every one of them and we hope they can progress further into professional's players and this money has helped them take a step further to that stage."
"The greyhound evening raised 380 pounds from ticket sales, but just as importantly we all had a fantastic evening out."
Unfortunately for Fenwick, Dunscroft JFC took the title of GSL Champions on the night but every single one of the clubs had a great night out and raised a significant amount of money for their respective club.
Over 30 clubs have already signed up to the 9 GSL events that will take place at Meadow Court Stadium. Simon Stocks, Account Manager for Sporting Leagues said "We have had a fantastic response from clubs within the region.
