Thames Gateway crowned Champions and raise over £250!
Thames Gateway Football club, left it to the last minute but powered home to become the Sporting Leagues Champions at the innaugral GSL event at Romford greyhound Stadium. There was an incredible atmosphere between the six local sport clubs who were fighting it out to be the top dog. Maybaker FC who had led for most of the night were in the lead up until the final race but Thames Gateway pipped them at the post to take the title.
David Fox, the secretary of Thames gateway expressed his appreciation by thanking Sporting Leagues for giving him the opportunity to be able to raise valuable funds for his club. He quoted that " What a fantastic night! The funds raised will go towards new tracksuits for the boys when they start their new season in September, without the help from sporting leagues, this would of been a struggle."
