High Lane FC are the latest club to reap the rewards of taking part in the 'Greyhound Sporting Leagues' scheme at the Belle vue track in October.
The club hired 2 coaches to transport over 70 people to the track so that the GSL participants could enjoy the night to its fullest whilst also raising £440 in the process.
And these may not be the only coaches hired in the near future as the money has gone to the clubs active participation in the 'Level 1 FA Coaching Scheme' which allows junior players the chance to learn more about coaching and refereeing at a grassroots level.
Club secretary, Mike Eastwood said "Hopefully the kids will take to this highly regarded coaching scheme so that they can gain an insight into how football works from the sidelines! I must thank Sporting Leagues, as otherwise we would not have been able to fund for this opportunity. I am confident that this scheme will set us apart from other football clubs around the Stockport region."
His praise comes after witnessing a last placed finish for High Lane FC in the Sporting League's table on the night. Let's hope that High Lane FC have better luck on their footballing travels this season!
