Bishops Caundle host International Friendly
Bishop's Caundle FC served up a fantastic bank holiday weekend of Dorset style hospitality to a German football club; Bölköwer SV who came from Gustro, near Rostock in North Germany. To help cover the cost of hosting their guests the teams jointly attended a Fundrazor Night at the Poole Greyhound Stadium helping raise £160.
The 2 clubs enjoyed a great night at the dogs on the Friday night, with the German club "slightly bemused watching the dogs at the start of the evening, but getting the hang of it by the end!" The following day the 2 clubs played an official International Friendly with an independent FA referee keeping order! Bishops Caundle unfortunately lost 2-1 to their German counterparts. David Byrne (secretary) commented "there was a good turnout of people down at the ground, and it was a great day".
The money they raised helped pay for the costs of the weekend, which included a hog roast down at the game. David commented on the Fundrazor scheme, "It was an absolutely fantastic night and way for us to raise money".
